I had planned to post a blurb about writer's conferences, but SC author, Vonda Skelton beat me to it (and she did a great job!) So if she doesn't mind, I'll post her link for your perusal:
Writer's Conferences: The first step on your writing journey

I signed up for the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writer's Conference at Ridgecrest a month ago, and often encourage others to attend as well. The courses and workshop I attended at last year's conference, the people I met, the networking I managed despite recuperating from abdominal surgery, and the fellowship offered catapulted my writing life further than I would have managed without the event.
If you're not in the North Carolina area, or NC is too far for you to travel, Vonda provides a list of other conferences in her conference post. American Fiction Christian Writers also offers an annual conference, as does American Christian Writers. Though secular, the South Carolina Writer's Workshop often invites a professional from the Inspirational market to attend their annual conference. For information on other conferences planned for 2008, check the current edition of Sally Stuart's Christian Market Guide.
Elevate your writing. Attend a writers conference!
