Where the Heart Is

An addendum to yesterday's post, lest the false impression that Christianity is a list of Do's and Don't's be reinforced. From the beginning, God's plan has been to reconcile people to Himself, and in doing so, change their heart.

Yes! It's all about where the heart is. The Do's and Don't's are simply a result of the change in heart and therefore, perspective. Consider Jesus's words:

      Matthew 6:21
      For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
    
      Matthew 15:8
      'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
    
      Matthew 15:18
      But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
     
      Matthew 15:19
      For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.
    
      Matthew 22:37
      Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
    
      Mark 7:6
      He answered and said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
     
So repentance is a repentance of the heart, and submission to Christ, our King. For more information...read the Bible.
